New Years Through the Decades A fun theme for a gala New Year's Eve party might be to represent several past decades with the decor. Using different table linens for each decade can change the mood while keeping a coherent look. We like the idea of using the same color but different textured cloths to represent each decade. Black or silver are great choices, especially for a black tie event. Let's say you pick the decades from the 50's going forward and you want to use black or silver linens as a backdrop for fabulous, glitzy, glam centerpieces. Choose a different textured linen for the 3 to 5 tables representing each decade. For the 50's we like Black Satin or Silver Mirrolahm - you know greasers, Poodle skirts and satin bomber jackets. Black Satin Silver Mirrolahm How about Black Valencia or Steel Rio Rose for the 60's? Flower power exemplified with embroidered buds! Black Valencia Steel Rio Rose The 70's screams for Black Sequins or Silver Stardust - Disco, need we say more?! The Black Sequin is a sequin covered sheer that can be used over any solid black cloth and the Silver Stardust is just plain WOW! Black Sequins Silver Stardust No one can remember the 80's without thinking big hair cut in a shag and teased to the max! Capture the mood with Black Petals or Silver Shag ! Black Petals Silver Shag The 90's was about grunge meets glam. Black Helix , with large silver sequins on black taffeta, and Silver Bichon , a crushed silver satin, work for us. Black Helix Silver Bichon A new century was ushered in for the 00's. Can't resist the reversible Silver Black Star and, of course, Millennium ! Silver Black Star Millennium Which brings us to now! Celebrate 2014 with Black Bombay or Black Sonata over Silver Satin . Black Bombay Black Sonata However you decide to celebrate the new year, Tabletoppers wishes everyone the best year ever! Happy New Year! Email to a friend * required fields From * To * Message (Optional)
